DUBAI
FOR OUR HONEYMOON IN 2021 WE WENT TO DUBAI, EGYPT & GREECE. WANTED TO SHARE SOME OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS FROM EACH SPOT. UP FIRST - DUBAI
WHERE WE STAYED -
We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira in Dubai, this area is closer to the financial district of Dubai. The Marina area is about a 15-20 minute drive south and there are lots of beach clubs, resorts, and restaurants in that area. The Mandarin Oriental Jumeira was amazing, the food on site was delicious, the pools and amenities were great, and they have a lot of restaurants on site. We loved it!
WHAT WE DID -
SAFARI: We went on a safari using Platinum Heritage Safari. Both my husband and I agree this was one of the coolest things we have ever experienced in our lives! They pick you up from your hotel and drive you out to the desert sanctuary, take you on a ride through the sand dunes highlighting the wildlife and conservation efforts. You then hop on a camel and ride through the desert to their dinner compound which was over the top and elaborate! You are served a 3-5 course dinner by candlelight and then get to enjoy a fire show and the local hookah. I highly recommend doing this if you go to visit Dubai!
SKI DUBAI: We went to the indoor ski slopes at Ski Dubai, located inside Mall of the Emirates. It was such a crazy experience being inside a mall, at an indoor Ski Resort, wearing warm ski clothes when it was 120 outside!
MALLS: We went to both Mall of the Emirates and The Dubai Mall.
BURJ KHALIFA: As opposed to paying the $100 fee to go to the top of the Burj Khalifa, we opted to eat at the restaurant inside the Burj Khalifa Atmosphere. You need to make reservations at least 2-3 weeks in advance but I highly suggest visiting the Burj Khalifa this way! You get to eat delicious food and have wonderful drinks, have an insanely gorgeous view the entire time, and truly get your money’s worth.
RESTAURANTS: Most of the restaurants in Dubai are in Hotels or Malls, you will rarely see a free standing restaurant in Dubai. We had a delicious Indian Food Experience at Carnival by Tresind. We also ate the restaurant inside the Burj Khalifa and at our hotel.
WHAT I WORE -
It was REALLY hot when we went to Dubai, we went in early July and it was anywhere from 110-120 with 80-90% humidity. VERY VERY HOT!! I’d suggest going from October - March when the weather is cooler. That being said, I wore lots of “summer” clothes with a more conservative approach. As you may know, Dubai is a Muslim Country but it is more modernized and people wear what they are comfortable in. I wanted to be respectful and dress more conservatively, and made sure to wear a full outfit over my swimsuit when heading to the pool (as opposed to a swim cover up). I got a lot of my outfits from Zara, Forever 21 & Revolve.
